John Wren: STILL

Thu 23 May 2024

For one night the whole warehouse became a single work — twenty moveable walls, forty artworks, and a runway.

STILL ran for a single night. Rather than hang work on fixed walls, John Wren built the show as something that moved: twenty moveable walls carrying forty artworks, paraded down a runway through the middle of the warehouse.

Strings specialist Briony Luttrell and songwriter Andy Ward composed the score the night was built around, performed as the work came down the runway.

It is one of the most complete uses the space has been put to — an exhibition, a performance and a fashion show at once, using the full depth of the warehouse rather than a corner of it.
