Creative Generation – Metro Regional Exhibition 2026
Queensland's brightest young artists take over the warehouse. The Creative Generation Metro Regional Exhibition brings together standout senior visual art from Brisbane's Metro North and Metro South schools.
Superordinary is proud to host the Creative Generation Metro Regional Exhibition, a celebration of the next generation of Queensland artists.
An initiative of the Department of Education with program partner the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, Creative Generation has recognised excellence in senior visual art since 1990. Each year it brings the work of the state's most talented young creatives to the public, and for the Metro regions, that stage is Superordinary.
The exhibition gathers more than 200 emerging artists from schools across Brisbane's Metro North and Metro South, with work spanning painting, drawing, design, photography, digital media, sculpture and installation. These are the standout pieces of the region's senior students, shown alongside the program's excellence, commendation and regional encouragement awards.
Opening night is Thursday 15 October, with the exhibition open to the public across the following days. Walk the warehouse floor and you will find ambitious concepts, real technical range and a generation finding its voice. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
