It seems the world is ready for another Psych Night. The desire to get groovy and gritty can’t be resisted any longer so let us crank the machine up and bring to you another magical soiree.
It has been five years since the last Psych Night, in those years we would have hit our tenth festival and our tenth year, quite the achievement for a group of mates who like to watch bands, talk shite and party. This attitude is the driving sprit of the festival and will never be lost so let’s fcking celebrate TEN YEARS OF PSYCH NIGHT, PARTY NUMBER TEN AND TEN YEARS OF AUSTRALIA’S BANDS BRINGING THE BEST!
This years celebration of psych will once again bring a handpicked selection of some of Australia’s finest bands. Nine of the finest representations of music you could ever ask for, take your pick from hard hitting rock to dark experimental to 60’s garage to prog to synth jams to straight up magic. Expect it all, and expect it to be top notch.
This year we will be holding Psych night at Superordinary, a multi-arts space fashioned inside one of the old warehouses in Hamilton. The venue is licensed so BYO alcohol is not happing this time. This was a huge decision for us to make as we know how much joy having the option of BYO brings all you legends. We were at the crossroads of shelving the festival or trying something a little different….so here we are. We trust that all the same vibes will be present and all you lovely creatures will come out and do what you do.
One added bonus to this new location is that we can offer the festival as all ages. This is something that has been asked constantly and from the start so let you cool cousin, mad dog nephew, your little rugrat reveller and anyone that does’t have ID know that the party for them is here.
The types of people that we have been lucky enough to entice to the festival is why Psych Night is as good as it is. YOU are the party, rip in and rave!
As always Psych Night presents a top night in a safe, respectful setting. All walks of life are encouraged to come along and enjoy the festival, whether that be sitting away from the stage with a group of newly made mates, being the designated skipper for your groups majestic voyage, dancing like your niece that’s had half a bottle of fanta and a bag of lollies, or whether it’s simply an evening spent chatting with dear old friends, we welcome YOU arms open.
