BRISBANE STREET ART FESTIVAL
Festival
Brisbane Street Art Festival (BSAF) is an annual public art event that seeks to provide opportunities for creative practitioners and the wider community to develop positive partnerships through engagement and collaboration. As an avenue for artistic expression, BSAF endeavours to create a multi-disciplinary platform that encourages any and all art forms to participate. BSAF provides a framework of showcase and engagement for public art across Brisbane.
Building from the strong response and support of our 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 festivals, BSAF returns in 2020 bigger and better than ever before with over 40 artworks being created by some of the most exciting street art practitioners from Brisbane, Australia and Internationally. BSAF is establishing itself as a leading annual public art festival, with the 2019 event having the support of a number of local and state government organisations, commercial enterprises, and academic institutions enabling the program, scope and scale to grow dramatically.
The festival’s program includes: live mural art, music, theatre, numerous exhibitions, creative master classes and workshops from some of our leading creatives, offering a diverse program of learning, creative development and collaboration.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 BSAF program is unable to proceed in its original format within the May dates, as health and safety concerns, gathering capacity limitations and travel restrictions drastically affect the program. However, Brisbane won’t go without the 2020 festival, and we are committed to delivering all 41 murals from local, interstate and international artists when it is safe to do, so be on the lookout for new dates.
